Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake Review & Prices

The Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake is one of the most stylish-looking small estate cars on sale. It blends the roomy cabin and high-tech interior of the standard A-Class hatchback with the swoopy looks of the sportier, but more cramped CLA Coupe.

From the outside – specifically from the front – the CLA Shooting Brake looks very similar to the standard A-Class. Take a look at it from the side or the rear, however, and it’s much longer and looks much more rakish. It gets similarly angular brake lights to the CLA Coupe and the larger CLS, and an upturned rear bumper and a subtle roof-mounted spoiler.

Inside, the CLA Shooting Brake comes with an almost identical interior to both the CLA Coupe and the A-Class hatchback. This means it gets plenty of brushed metal trims, a minimalist dashboard, mood lighting and some lovely turbine-like air vents.

It also gets Mercedes’ new MBUX infotainment system which features two huge displays and one of the most advanced voice-recognition systems around. It can also overlay sat-nav directions on a video coming directly from the CLA Shooting Brake’s front bumper so you’ll have no excuse for missing a turning again.

You can also get this system in the CLA Coupe and the A-Class, but the CLA Shooting Brake is more practical than these models thanks to its big boot and decent cabin space.

It comes with similar engines to these cars, including a range of economical petrol and diesel units and a 310hp AMG-tuned engine in CLA 35 guise.
