Staying safe online
Here at carwow, we’ve been notified of a few instances where our name, logo, registered email address, domain name or employee names have been used in attempts to defraud our customers or the general public.
Unfortunately, scams of this nature are common, and they often seem to be credible or trustworthy.
If you are unsure about the credentials of anyone telling you that they are, or work for, or are affiliated with carwow, please stop all communication and email us at help@carwow.co.uk to check.
Top tips to help you stay safe online
DO:
- Approach with caution and check credentials if you receive a call, email or text that you were not expecting (even if the person knows some basic information about you).
- Hang up on calls and ignore messages if you feel pressured to act quickly.
DON’T:
- Give out your bank account details unless you’re certain who you’re dealing with.
- Share your passwords with anyone (including your social media passwords).
- Give access to your device by downloading software or an app from a source you don’t trust.
