Honda, unlike some other car makers, hasn’t gone all-in on electric cars yet, so far offering only the e:Ny1 and the now-discontinued Honda e. There is, apparently, a new lineup of long-range all-electric models on the way, but so far Honda has been tentative with its EVs.

Electric Honda cars: current models

Honda currently has two all-electric cars, and both have range issues.

Honda e:Ny1

The e:Ny1, torturous name aside, is a compact electric SUV with plenty of space in the cabin and the usual Honda high quality levels. It has brisk performance, but the battery doesn’t last on longer journeys, often leaving you with a range as low as 190 miles.

Honda e

The gorgeous little Honda e was the company’s first toe in the electric car market, and while it looks utterly brilliant, and has one of the best interiors of any car, it was also way too expensive when new, and had only enough battery range for around 100 miles in real-world conditions.

Honda electric car FAQs

Yes, Honda currently makes the e:Ny1 electric SUV, and it previously made the adorable little Honda e electric city car.
The Honda e:Ny1, currently Honda’s only EV on sale in the UK, costs from £40,645.
