About the Hyundai Ioniq 5

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is a retro-futuristic hatchback, full of quirky design features and with a suitably posh interior for the price. Inspired by 1970’s hatchbacks but looking like it’s driven off the set of Blade Runner, the Ioniq 5 is sure to turn heads.

It’s much larger than it looks, similarly-sized to the BMW X3 and Volvo XC60 SUVs, with plenty of room inside for passengers - though the boot is a little smaller than you might expect at 520 litres.

Electric range varies from 273-354 miles depending on trim and battery size, meaning the Ioniq 5 can comfortably do long trips with a little prior planning.

Inside the Ioniq 5 is an equally futuristic interior, with a pair of big displays on the dashboard and an airy feel with plenty of space for front and rear passengers.

Light steering and a suite of driver assistance systems make long drives and city commutes easy, though the Ioniq 5 is a little stiff over some bumps. It’s surprisingly capable in the corners though, taking twisty roads in its stride with little in the way of body lean.

Why lease a Hyundai Ioniq 5?

Leasing the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is a great option if you’re after an interesting, desirable and practical family EV to add to your driveway.

The right lease deal means you’ll pay low monthly prices compared to a lot of hire purchase (HP) deals, whereas the initial deposit is a fraction of the cost of a cash purchase. Maintenance, insurance and road tax are often included in the monthly cost of the car.

The lower monthly leasing costs mean you can spec a higher trim level, or bigger battery version of the Ioniq 5 for the same price as an entry-level car on an HP deal. The option of returning the car at the end of your term or switching to another also means you can avoid the depreciation hit that so often comes with big electric cars.

FAQs

That will depend on the size of your family, but with comfortable seating for five and a 520-litre boot there’s definitely enough space for a couple of kids and a mix of luggage in the back.
