Hyundai small car range: current models

Hyundai’s small car range runs the gamut from the affordable and frugal i10 to the fast and fun i30 N.

Hyundai i10

The i10 is Hyundai’s smallest car, and while it’s not quite as cheap to buy as once it was, it’s a very high-quality car with plenty of room inside, a frugal 1.0-litre petrol engine, and a long warranty for extra peace of mind.

Hyundai i20

The Hyundai i20 might be small, but it feels big in terms of its quality and comfort, and it’s a good car to drive too, with sharp steering and comfortable ride over bumps. There’s a big boot too, which is handy for the weekend shopping.

Hyundai i20 N

The i20 N is Hyundai’s small hot hatch. It gets a 204hp turbo 1.6 engine, which can fling it to 62mph in just 6.7 seconds. It also has tweaked handling and steering to cope with the power, and it’s massive fun to drive. You can even get it in the same pale blue paint as Hyundai’s rally cars.

Hyundai i30

The i30 is Hyundai’s competitor for the likes of the VW Golf and the Ford Focus. It’s a handsome car, with a well-made cabin and comes with a choice of 1.0-litre or 1.5-litre turbo petrol engines,  both of which are very economical.

Hyundai i30 N

If the Hyundai i30 is a fairly plain family hatchback, then the i30 N is its naughty cousin. A rival to the VW Golf GTI and Ford Focus ST, the i30 N gets a 280hp turbocharged engine, motorsport-tweaked suspension and steering, and an ability to put a smile on your face that few others can match.

Hyundai i30 Fastback

Reckon that the standard Hyundai i30 looks a bit too ordinary? The i30 Fastback is the fix for that, with a sleek fastback rear end that gives the i30 much more distinctive styling, and which actually makes it a little more practical too, because the boot is slightly bigger.

Hyundai i30 Fastback N

The i30 Fastback N takes all of the motorsports-inspired bits of the regular i30 N — the 280hp turbo engine, the specially tuned suspension and steering, the sporty bucket seats etc — and wraps them all up in the distinctive Fastback body, which just makes this hot hatch even more appealing.

Hyundai small cars FAQs

The i20 is Hyundai’s best small car. It’s larger and roomier than the tiny i10, but still compact enough to make life easy in town. There’s enough space for people in the back seats and luggage in the boot, and it has a high-quality cabin, and frugal petrol engines. Or you could go for the brilliant i20 N, which is one of the best hot-hatches around.
The Hyundai i10 is the smallest car that the Korean car maker produces, and it has been since the first version was introduced in 2007.
Yes, the Hyundai i10 is very small — it’s just 3.6 metres long, and a tiny 1.6 metres wide.
The i30 is more compact than truly small — it’s about the same size as a VW Golf or Ford Focus, but that makes it small enough to be easy to park and not to feel bulky and awkward in town.
