  • Revised front end design
  • Updated interior trim
  • New, larger battery
  • Only available in South Korea for now
  • UK reveal expected by the end of the year

This is the new Kia EV6, and it’s been given a front-end makeover for 2024 to keep it looking fresh.

This alternative to the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Tesla Model Y also has a bigger battery than before, as well as some interior upgrades. It’s only available in South Korea for now, but a UK debut is expected by the end of the year.

New Kia EV6 design

No one could ever accuse the current Kia EV6 of being boring to look at, but the updated version has been given some styling tweaks to bring it in line with cars such as the EV5 concept.

New Kia EV6 front

The most striking update comes up front in the form of new headlights. They’re much thinner and more angular than before, and the main beams are hidden within the triangular daytime running lights.

New Kia EV6 rear

Other than that and a new lower bumper, the rest of the EV6’s design is pretty similar to the current model. There are some new alloy wheels to choose from, however things at the rear are pretty much identical.

Changes to the cabin are also subtle, but there are a few differences which lift things nicely. The main difference is the new steering wheel with the Kia logo offset to the side, and in this car it’s finished in funky two-tone colour.

You still get a pair of 12.3-inch screens as standard across the range, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto also included.

New Kia EV6 batteries and range

There’s a more substantial change for the new EV6 under the skin, because the 77kWh battery has been replaced with an 84kWh pack. It’s the same unit you’ll find in the recently updated Hyundai Ioniq 5.

New Kia EV6 GT Line front

An official range figure is yet to be confirmed for UK cars, however you can expect a healthy increase over the 328 miles you get in the current car. Around 350 miles seems likely.

New Kia EV6 price and release date

The new Kia EV6 is already available to order in South Korea, however it’s not been confirmed when it’ll make its way to UK showrooms. Order books are likely to open at the end of the year, with deliveries starting in early 2025.

As for price, expect to see a slight increase over the current £45,275 asking figure. Somewhere closer to £50,000 is a safe bet.
