The new Aston Martin Valhalla is here. It’s the brand’s alternative to supercars like the Ferrari SF90 and the Lamborghini Revuelto, with a focus on driving pleasure both on the road and on the track.

It’s powered by a hybridised 4.0-litre V8 engine with three electric motors, and it has clever active aero to keep the car hunkered down at high speeds. Production will start in 2025, with just 999 units being built.

New Aston Martin Valhalla design

The Valhalla is very different to anything Aston Martin has built before. Most of its lineup consists of front-engined sports cars and grand touring coupes, while the Valkyrie is an all-out track weapon. This is a mid-engined supercar to rival the Ferrari 296 GTB, and it certainly has plenty of curb appeal.

2025 Aston Martin Valhalla front

Up front it has a wide and imposing grille which is similar in shape to the new Vantage, and the slicked-back headlights mimic that car’s as well. The massively flared wheel arches give it a muscular stance as well.

The carbon fibre skirts around the lower edges of the car not only look good, they help push the car into the tarmac at high speeds. You also have massive air channels down the side to send air into the engine.

2025 Aston Martin Valhalla rear

Moving to the rear it’s hard to ignore that massive spoiler. It’s an active wing which can adjust on the fly to maximise downforce and it, along with the rest of the active aero, can produce up to 600kg of downforce.

New Aston Martin Valhalla engine and performance

Powering the Valhalla is a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine which on its own produces 828hp, and it’s paired with three electric motors. There’s one in the gearbox to boost the engine and fill in the gaps between gear changes, and the front wheels are powered by the other two motors.

2025 Aston Martin Valhalla exhaust

It’s a very similar setup to the Lamborghini Revuelto, and combined it puts out 1,079hp and 1,100Nm of torque. The engine is linked to an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and the Valhalla will do 0-60mph in 2.5 seconds. That’s almost exactly the same as the Revuelto, but it’s half a second off the Ferrari SF90.

For wafting around the city you can drive the Valhalla in electric-only mode. The range is less than nine miles, and it’ll still do 80mph without the engine.

New Aston Martin Valhalla suspension and chassis

The Aston Martin Valhalla has been designed for both the road and the track, so the suspension needs to be very finely tuned.

2025 Aston Martin Valhalla wheel

The car’s structure is made from carbon fibre to maximise rigidity and minimise weight – this car weighs just 1,655kg, which is pretty impressive for a hybrid. It also has F1-style pushrod suspension, a setup which both improves aerodynamics thanks to the positioning of the springs and it makes the car feel more agile.

2025 Aston Martin Valhalla rear quarter

It has a torque vectoring system on the front axle as well, something which is made possible by the electric motors. It can send power to the wheel with the most grip to slingshot you through corners.

New Aston Martin Valhalla interior

You won’t confuse the Valhalla for a family hatchback when you step inside, because it’s a very driver-focussed cabin with plenty of exotic materials.

The one-piece carbon seats are designed to hold you firmly in place as you blast around a track, and the driving position has been designed so your legs stretch directly out in front of you. The rectangular steering wheel is also inspired by Formula 1.

You have a couple of screens in front of you – one for your driving information and an infotainment system in the middle. Apart from this, it’s a pretty minimalist affair – with plenty of exposed carbon fibre to remind you that you’re driving something special.
