Car changing is a big deal
An incredibly predictable choice, but there’s a reason why this car is still held in such high regard and should be on your bucket list.
If you’re looking for a more refined driving experience, a saloon is the way to go. And when it comes to finding a car of the sort, then surely you want something world class, right?
Well, the BMW 3 Series is practical, posh and brilliant fun to drive. Although the styling hasn’t really changed, the updated version has swanky new curved screens in the cabin and there is now some nipping and tucking around the lights and grille.
BMW 3 Series: deals: save over £8,000*
The BMW 3 Series usually starts from £40,950, but through Carwow you can get it for £37,768. This makes it around £7,300 cheaper than a Mercedes C-Class.
The biggest savings can be found on the M340i model, with over £8,200 off at the time of writing. With this you get a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder engine with 387hp and 19-inch alloy wheels.
Its boot is practical, especially in the Touring estate, but a reminder that the plug-in hybrid 330e loses quite a lot of space to the battery. Not that you’ll care much about boot space when you’re in the driver’s seat anyway.

There are plenty of other posh saloon/estate cars to consider, including:
Audi A4: Very comfortable and quiet to drive but the BMW 3 Series is a lot more fun.
Mercedes C-Class: Smaller boot than a 3 Series but is packed with a lot of tech.
Genesis G70: Not very comfortable but it looks rather elegant.
