Car changing is a big deal
This is the updated Dacia Sandero, and the UK’s cheapest new car is getting a few tweaks to keep it looking fresh.
- New Dacia Sandero spotted testing
- Mid-life update for budget hatchback
- Minor styling tweaks
- Interior may also be updated
- Full reveal could come this year
The Dacia Sandero is currently the cheapest new car you can buy, and this affordable small hatchback is getting a mid-life refresh soon. It’s been spotted by Carwow’s spy photographers during development testing wearing a thin disguise.
This alternative to the Hyundai i20 and SEAT Ibiza looks as though it’ll get a couple of minor design tweaks, and there could be some interior changes as well. We expect to see a full reveal towards the end of the year.
New Dacia Sandero design and interior
This is just a mid-life update for the Dacia Sandero, so don’t expect to see any major design changes. It’s already a handsome little car, so a couple of tweaks will be enough to keep it looking fresh.

The headlights retain the same slim shape as the current car, but you could see a revised LED pattern to visually distinguish the new one. The grille may also be altered slightly, but the biggest change is likely to be to the bumper. This is well-covered for now, but re-shaped air intakes are almost certainly lurking beneath the wrap.
There are no changes to report down the side, aside from the different alloy wheels fitted to this test car. At the rear, it looks like the taillights are getting updated because they’re well-covered.

As for the interior, don’t expect any massive changes. The new Sandero could get a new steering wheel courtesy of the latest Duster, and top-spec models could also take that car’s 10.1-inch infotainment system to replace the 8.0-inch one you currently get.
New Dacia Sandero price and specs
It’s a bit early to put a price on the new Dacia Sandero just yet, but it’ll almost certainly stay below the £15,000 mark when it goes on sale. A full reveal of the updated car is likely towards the end of 2025, with sales starting next year.

The current car’s 91hp 1.0-litre engine is expected to carry over as well, as is the 100hp BiFuel version which can run on LPG.
