Commercial Vehicle Show: four exciting new vans to look out for in 2025 and beyond

Car changing is a big deal
Birmingham may not seem like the most glamorous venue to show off a new product, but the Commercial Vehicle Show saw several new model debuts. Here are four of the most interesting
New commercial vehicles aren’t always as exciting as cars, but they have the potential to affect your life much more than a new hybrid SUV does. Vans and other CVs are the lifeblood of businesses, providing transport for every industry.
The commercial vehicle market is as affected as new cars are by a changing world. A focus on electrification, much like it is in passenger vehicles, is set to phase out petrol and diesel vans by 2035 – so manufacturers are responding with ever more usable, usefulx and yes, desirable new models. Here are four of the most exciting electric vans we saw on our rounds at the 2025 Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham.
Renault Trafic, Estafette and Goelette

These three models are based on the same underpinnings – a brand-new set of electric components born out of a merger between Renault, Volvo, and CMA CGM – a French logistics company. Using a smart ‘skateboard’ platform and integrating software seamlessly into every level of the vehicle, the new Renault models offer impressive range and efficiency and fantastic adaptability, which allows fleets or individual users to really customise them to suit their needs.
Three models have been revealed so far based on this set of components. The Trafic is a traditional panel van, with up to 279 miles of range with the larger of its two available batteries. The Goelette takes the Trafic’s cab but opens the back out to a chassis, allowing bodybuilders to fit all manner of equipment or transport solutions to the rear. And the Estafette is specifically designed for delivery work – it has ultra-light sliding doors and is tall enough to allow the driver to stand upright inside. Production of these three begins in 2026.
Isuzu D-Max Electric

A surprise debut from Isuzu is the fully-electric version of its long-lived D-Max pickup truck. It enters a class of one, as so far the only electric pickup truck available to UK buyers is the cheap – but deeply flawed – Maxus T90 EV.
The D-Max has the benefit of a trusted brand behind it, and unlike the T90 actually has four-wheel drive so it should be pretty capable in the rough stuff. It can even tow 3.5 tonnes and has a payload of more than 1,000kg. However, a relatively small battery means a claimed range of just over 160 miles – and that’ll decrease sharply if you make use of its load capacity. Good for heavy lifting, just not for a long time.
Farizon SV

Fari-who? Farizon is a new brand, but behind it sits the might of the Geely manufacturing group – China’s largest exporter of cars. It was formed in 2016 but the SV (which stands for Supervan – yes, really) is its first product for Europe. Interestingly, it uses by-wire technology for all its controls – meaning there’s no mechanical linkage between the steering wheel and the front wheels, for example. The same goes for the brakes, throttle and drive selection – all in aid of allowing greater responsiveness and better energy recovery.
There are three batteries available, with the largest claiming a maximum range of 247 miles – and unlike many electric vans, payloads are excellent with all models capable of carrying over a ton. Though the Farizon brand is still in its infancy in the UK without a dealership network, it could well be one to watch.
Kia PV5

Kia’s debut into the world of commercial vehicles is a really impressive one – the PV5 looks cool, has good specs and doesn’t cost much. With the plug-in van grant, you’ll be able to pick one up for less than £23,000 when it launches in the UK later in 2025.
There’ll be a variety of bodystyles available including a plush people-carrier version, but all promise good if not ground-breaking range and terrific value. Kia’s definitely gunning for as big a share of the electric van market as possible – which could well stand it in very good stead for when regulations change and legacy petrol and diesel vans can’t be sold any longer.
