About the Nissan Leaf

The Nissan Leaf has been around for a long time, but while there are more modern electric cars for you to consider, this is still a capable option thanks to its smart looks and massive boot.

The Leaf looked pretty futuristic when it first went on sale, and the design has aged nicely to the point where it’s actually quite subtle, which is great if you don’t want to shout about the fact you’ve bought an electric car.

It’s quite dated inside because of the chunky buttons and small touchscreen, but particularly if you go for higher trims, you get some nice leather upholstery in the cabin.

With a maximum range of 239 miles the Leaf might not be ideal for regular longer journeys, but if you have home charging and stick to your local area it could be a great option that costs almost nothing to run. The other concern is that it uses a CHAdeMO charging connector – this is an outdated technology and only fitted to some older EVs, so you won’t always find support at public chargers.

One of the real highlights of the Nissan Leaf is its practicality – at 435 litres the boot is bigger than what most similarly sized alternatives can offer.

Why lease a Nissan Leaf?

The Nissan Leaf is a great option for leasing an electric car, particularly if you’re put off by most modern car interiors, which are obsessed with routing all functions through clunky touchscreens. The Leaf’s cabin is simple to use by comparison.

Leasing takes a lot of the strain out of car ownership, too. You simply decide how much you’d like to pay up front and this returns one monthly payment that covers the cost of the car, road tax and most service and maintenance, too.

The other benefit is that because you simply hand the car back at the end of the term, leasing payments tend to be cheaper than other financing options, so you can save money on the model you want, or potentially get into a higher trim.

FAQs

The Nissan Leaf is a good car to lease if you’re looking for a simple electric car ownership experience with a big boot for added practicality.
