Carwow BuySafe is a brand new scheme designed specifically to protect you from major repairs associated with pre-existing issues, or issues that may arise after you’ve taken delivery of a vehicle.

It assists you with the biggest and most problematic repairs reported by dealers after sale, so you can buy through us with more confidence than ever.

Carwow BuySafe offers outstanding protection against hidden inherent faults, regardless of whether they were undeclared by the seller or were simply unknown to them. Faults that develop after purchase are also included.

Carwow BuySafe includes the cost of repairing or replacing around 3,000 parts under the main systems - so items such as the engine, gearbox, alternator, differential, infotainment, lighting units and supercharger, for instance - plus the associated labour costs.  Please refer to the product booklet for further details.

Additionally it includes one hour of diagnosis, plus a contribution of up to £500 including VAT towards consequential damage caused to included parts.

  • Any system or part not listed as being included
  • Parts that have not actually failed and are still performing some of their functions
  • Any mechanical, electrical or electronic issues that were declared by the seller in the initial vehicle listing
  • Service and consumable items
  • Bodywork, trim and glass
  • Modified vehicles
  • Any vehicle that has been written-off, cloned or stolen

Unfortunately Jaguar Land Rover vehicles are initially excluded due to the current parts shortage. 

This is a trade agreement to support Carwow dealers post-purchase and includes trade repair costs only. It is not designed to help you prepare a vehicle for sale, or profit from the scheme. As such, there are several restrictions in place to protect the integrity and longevity of the scheme. 
  • Vehicles with a purchase price of between £5,000 and £80,000 are included
  • Vehicles must not have exceeded 8 years of age and 80,000 miles at the start date
  • You can make one claim, however this can include multiple repairs. The maximum amount you can claim is £7,500 including VAT. All repairs must be reported to us at the same time
  • The maximum hourly labour rates you can claim are up to £50 + VAT outside the M25 and up to £55 + VAT inside the M25. 
Carwow BuySafe can be added to your winning bids through your Won folder or via each vehicle listing page. This must be done within 24 hours of winning the vehicle on the platform otherwise the ability to add BuySafe will be removed.  

Five day BuySafe costs are just £59 + VAT. All you need to do is tick the box to confirm that you wish to add it and we’ll simply include the cost on your next invoice. 

Yes, there are some time windows you need to be aware of when buying BuySafe:

24 hours - The period within which you need to have requested BuySafe in the Won folder after winning the vehicle.

14 days - The total period for which BuySafe is active post winning a vehicle on the platform.

5 days - The live period post collection within which you can make a claim.

For example, if you won a vehicle on 5th December, a Repair Request on that vehicle would be possible until the 19th December.  If you collected the vehicle on 16th December, you would have a 3 day window within which you could make a claim before the agreement ended on the 19th December.

Making a claim is really quick and painless through our new online system, which you’ll have access to once you’ve reported your first claim. 

Step 1 - making your first claim only

The very first time you make a claim on a vehicle bought through Carwow, you’ll need to call us on 01296 794662 or email Carwowrepairs@wsgwarranties.co.uk with your contact details and those of your nominated repairer. Our opening hours are 8.30am – 5.30pm Monday – Friday. 

Following this, we’ll send you an email link to login to the portal which you can use to report all subsequent claims.  

Step 2 

Submit all details of the fault through the portal. You’ll also need to attach a photograph of the dashboard with the engine running on the collection day, showing the time, date and mileage as well as your collection day appraisal from.

If the fault isn’t evident, it will need to be diagnosed. Diagnosis costs are your responsibility at this stage but if the repair becomes a valid claim, we’ll pay for up to one hour.

Step 3

All details will be assessed, and we’ll provide you with an authorisation code if it’s a valid claim. The work can then be carried out immediately. 

Once the repair is agreed, you’ll need to send the invoice to carwowadmin@wsgwarranties.co.uk including the authorisation code and bank details of payee. The invoice must be made out to Warranty Solutions Group Ltd, otherwise the VAT element cannot be reimbursed.

Payments will be made by bank transfer to the person or company you’ve specified, within two working days from receipt of invoice.

Warranty Solutions Group is our multi award-winning warranty partner that we’ve appointed to administer BuySafe. 
The BuySafe cost will be invoiced weekly in arrears as a separate invoice to your buying or transport fees.
Occasionally things do go wrong and there might be an instance where you’re not happy with our service or the decision on your repair.

Before you do anything else, please give us the opportunity to investigate and put things right by sending your complaint to crmanager@warrantysolutionsgroup.co.ukor writing to Customer Relationship Manager at this address: Warranty Solutions Group Ltd, The Gatehouse, Gatehouse Way, Aylesbury, Bucks, HP19 8DB.

Your complaint will be acknowledged within 3 working days and responded to within 14 working days, although it is usually much sooner.
