Peugeot 7-seater cars Discover the Peugeot 7-seater range and compare new, used and leasing deals
Just like Mercedes, Peugeot got in on the seven-seat game early on, offering estate cars in the sixties, seventies, and eighties with extra seats for growing families. These days, the Peugeot seven-seat lineup is divided between its 5008 SUV and the van-based Rifter and Traveller.

Peugeot 7-seater range: current models
Peugeot’s seven-seaters come with hybrid or fully electric power and you can choose between SUV and van-based MPV shapes.
Peugeot 5008
The Peugeot 5008 is a car that’s as striking to look at on the outside as it is on the inside. Outside, you get dramatic lights at the front, while inside you get a sweep of cool-looking digital displays. You also get plenty of space, and lots of comfort, but the third-row seats are a little tight unless you slide the middle row forward a little. The hybrid 1.2-litre turbo engine is economical, but lacks power for overtaking.
Peugeot E-5008
The all-electric version of the 5008, this E-5008 has a decent range (in the real world you should be able to manage around 270 miles on a charge, and there’s a longer-range model on the way) and it’s ultra-refined on the move. The same issues apply to the back seats as with the hybrid model (not quite enough space for adults) and the ride comfort is a bit more firm, thanks to the weight of the battery.
Peugeot E-Rifter
Peugeot has dropped the petrol- and diesel-powered versions of the Rifter — based on its Partner van — and so the all-electric E-Rifter is now your only choice. It comes with a short range — just 199 miles officially, and less than that in the real world — so it’s really for urban dwellers and school-runners, but with two sliding side doors and a massive boot (even with all seven seats occupied) it’s a hugely practical family car.
Peugeot e-Traveller
The all-electric e-Traveller, based on Peugeot’s Partner van, isn’t just a seven-seater — you can fit as many as eight people in one of these, and still have room left over for luggage. That sounds tantalising for family buyers, but the e-Traveller is limited to a maximum range of just 219 miles (and more like 150 miles in real-world conditions), plus it’s huge and awkward to park.
