Peugeot has one of the biggest ranges of hybrid cars available with everything from small hatchbacks to large, seven seater MPVs.
Peugeot 308
The stylish Peugeot 308 hatchback is available as a hybrid and plug-in hybrid.
The plug-in hybrid combines battery power with a petrol engine and can be used in three modes: hybrid (alternates between battery and petrol engine), electric (100% electric) or sport (maximum performance using the battery and engine together). There are two versions: the 180 e-EAT8 with a 150bhp engine and 81kW battery or the 225 with the 180 bhp PureTech engine and same 81kW battery. The battery needs plugging-in to a charger to recharge. It has a claimed range of 35 miles on purely electric power, CO2 emissions from 28g/km and a combined fuel consumption of 199.4mpg. The Hybrid4 versions has 4-wheel drive.
The hybrid has 136bhp of performance and emissions of 107 g/km. Instead of being plugged-in, the battery is charged while driving, or by capturing energy when braking. It can store enough power to drive the vehicle for short distances and typically helps boost fuel economy by 20%.

The 308 SW is the estate version of the 308 hatchback and is available as a plug-in hybrid. The Peugeot 408 is a large hatchback available in hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions.
The 408 plug-in hybrid is available with a choice of the 180 e-EAT9 (with 150 bhp petrol engine and 81kW battery) or the 225 e-EAT8 version (with 179 bhp engine and 81kW battery). It is a PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Vehicle) with an eight-speed automatic transmission offering a 100% electric driving range of up to 34 miles. It claims a combined fuel consumption of 232.3 mpg with CO2 emissions from 31g/km.
The hybrid 136bhp e-DSC6 (100kW) version has a six-speed automatic with 114 co2 g/km transmission. It is self-charging with CO2 emissions of 114 g/km and a combined fuel consumption of 55.5 mpg. Instead of being plugged-in, the battery is automatically charged while driving, and by capturing energy when braking. It can store enough power to drive the vehicle for short distances and typically helps boost fuel economy by 20%.
Peugeot 508
The Peugeot 508 Fastback (hatchback) plug-in hybrid 225 e-EAT8 (165kW) has a claimed range on 100% electric power of up to 40 miles (or 34.2 for the all-wheel drive model) with a combined fuel consumption of 256 mpg and combined CO2 emissions from 28g/km (158.5 mpg and 45 g/km respectively for the AWD). The 81kW battery is matched with a 1.6-litre petrol engine with 181 bhp or, in the all-wheel drive model 4WD) has 200 bhp.
Peugeot 508 SW
The Peugeot 508 SW (estate) plug-in hybrid 225 e-EAT8 (165kW) has a claimed range on 100% electric power of up to 40 miles (or 34.2 for the all-wheel drive model) with a combined fuel consumption of 256 mpg and combined CO2 emissions from 28g/km (158.5 mpg and 45 g/km respectively for the AWD). The 81kW battery is matched with a 1.6-litre petrol engine with 181 bhp or, in the all-wheel drive model 4WD) has 200 bhp.
Peugeot 508 PSE
The 508 PSE (Peugeot Sport Engineered) Hybrid4 360 e-EAT8 is available exclusively as a PHEV with the choice of Fastback or SW (estate) bodystyles. It is inspired by the Peugeot 9X8 Hypercar and has enhanced performance to a total of 355 bhp, torque of 520 Nm and comes with 4-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic gearbox, plus a host of special features for the interior and exterior. It has a 83kW electric motor with a 100% electric range of up to 34 miles, combined CO2 emissions of 40 g/km and combined fuel economy of 156.9mpg.
