Hybrid Porsche range: current models

Porsche’s hybrid lineup (aside from the new 911) revolves around the plug-in hybrid models of the Cayenne and Panamera.

Porsche Cayenne

The Cayenne comes with a choice of three hybrid models. The first two, the E-Hybrid and the S E-Hybrid are basically the same model, with a turbo V6 engine and an electric range of up to 48 miles. There’s a choice of power outputs of 470hp for the basic E-Hybrid or 519hp for the S. Then there’s the Turbo E-Hybrid, which has a turbo V8 engine with up to 739hp, and which has devastating performance, and can still cover 45 miles on electric power.

Porsche Cayenne Coupe

As with the standard high-roofed Cayenne, you get a choice of E-Hybrid, S E-Hybrid, and Turbo E-Hybrid models. But the Cayenne Coupe (which is really just a Cayenne with a slightly more sloped tailgate) has an extra model, the Turbo E-Hybrid with GT Package, which has the same power as the Turbo but which comes with tweaked suspension, steering, and brakes for a far more aggressively sporty driving experience.

Porsche Panamera

The sleek Panamera saloon’s hybrid lineup is similar to that of the Cayenne’s, and kicks off with a 470hp E-Hybrid model with an electric range of up to 57 miles. There’s a power boost for the 4S E-Hybrid which has 544hp and four-wheel drive too. Then we move to the Turbo E-Hybrid which has a massive 680hp, but topping the lineup is the mighty Turbo S E-Hybrid with 782hp and a 0-62mph time of less than 3.0 seconds.

Porsche hybrid cars FAQs

Yes, it has several plug-in hybrid versions of the Cayenne, Cayenne Coupe, and Panamera while the latest version of the 911 sports car comes with hybrid power too (although the 911 isn’t a plug-in hybrid).
No, the previous Macan was never available in hybrid form, and the new Macan is electric-only, although there is the possibility that Porsche might create a hybrid version of the new Macan in the future.
Porsche’s plug-in hybrid models work like any other — they come with either a V6 turbo or V8 turbo petrol engine, backed up by a rechargeable battery. Plug in and charge up, and they have an all-electric range of up to 57 miles (for the Panamera) or 48 miles (for the Cayenne). The hybrid electric motor can also be used to dramatically boost the power of the whole system, which means the Turbo models can have as much as 782hp.
