The Renault Espace is back, only this time it’s an SUV rather than a quirky people carrier, and it won’t be coming to the UK. Read on for all you need to know.

The new Renault Espace has been revealed. Unlike the previous car, this is a seven-seat SUV and the styling is similar to the smaller Renault Austral.
This alternative to cars like the Skoda Kodiaq and Kia Sorento won’t be coming to the UK.
New Renault Espace design
The new Renault Espace looks an awful lot like a stretched Austral, because that’s basically what it is.
You get the same C-shaped LED headlights as that car, as well as the wide grille with the new Renault logo proudly placed in the middle.
It looks a bit more boxy than the Austral from the side, with a longer rear overhang and a more upright tailgate. You get 19-inch wheels as standard, however 20-inch alloys are also available.
There’s a pretty big roof spoiler for an SUV at the rear, as well as similar swoopy LED tail lights to the Austral. There’s also some gloss black trim around the lower bumper to make it look more rugged.
New Renault Espace interior and infotainment
You may recognise this dashboard design from the Renault Megane E-Tech and Renault Austral, because they share a similar design.
The dashboard is dominated by a 12.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, paired with a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display. A 9.3-inch head-up display is also available as an option. The Espace is available as either a five or seven-seater.
New Renault Espace engines
The new Renault Espace is only available as a full hybrid for now, and it’s the same system you get in the Renault Austral. You get a 1.2-litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor, producing a combined 200hp.
Can you buy the new Renault Espace?
The new Renault Espace will be available to order in Europe soon, but don’t get your wallets out just yet because it’s not coming to the UK.
If you want a new Renault SUV, you’ll have to wait for the smaller Renault Austral to go on sale later this year.
