Skoda small car range: current models

Skoda has a decent range of small cars to choose from. Here’s an overview of each one to help you decide.

Skoda Scala

The Skoda Scala is a small hatchback that’s perfect if you want a spacious cabin and loads of room in the boot. Best of all it’s incredibly good value for money. It’s not amazing to drive, but if you just want a car that’s practical and can get you from A to B with little fuss, it’s a great option.

Skoda Fabia

The Skoda Fabia is one of those very rare things – a small car that does not feel very small to drive. It’s solid and secure, which means it’s not only easy to drive around town, but also feels happy sitting at 70mph on the motorway without being too noisy. It’s also really practical, too – because it’s a Skoda.

Skoda Octavia

Another Tardis-like offering from Skoda, the Octavia isn’t much bigger than a Volkswagen Golf, but it feels like a much bigger car inside and has a bigger boot than most alternatives in the class above. It’s not very exciting to drive, but you get some efficient engines to choose from and it all feels well-built inside.

Skoda Octavia vRS

The regular version might not be very exciting to drive, but if you like the idea of all that practicality but fancy a bit more sportiness then the Skoda Octavia vRS could be an option. It’s no aggressive race car-derived hot hatch, you just get a bit more power and a sharper design, while retaining the easy-to-drive, comfortable feeling behind the wheel.

Skoda doesn’t make a tiny car anymore, since the Citigo went out of production in 2020. However, it still has a few small cars in its line-up, particularly the Fabia and Scala. The Octavia feels really roomy inside but it still has pretty small dimensions.
Yes, the Skoda Fabia can be considered a small car, and it’s the smallest car Skoda makes.
Although the Skoda Octavia looks like a saloon, it actually has a hatchback boot.
