Vauxhall SUV range: current models
Vauxhall Mokka
The stylish Vauxhall Mokka is a compact crossover with a range of petrol engines. There are a couple of alternatives - 100hp and 136hp 1.2-litre manuals and 130hp 1.2 automatic. The Mokka is one of Vauxhall’s best-looking cars, and is even available in a bright Iconic Green colour, should you want to stand out.
Vauxhall Mokka Electric
As the name suggests, this is the fully electric version of the Mokka, offering a zero-emission driving experience with an official range of over 250 miles following a 2023 update. The new 156hp motor provides a small boost in power over the 136hp version the car first launched with, and comparable electric SUVs include the Kia Niro EV and the Peugeot e-2008.
Vauxhall Crossland
The Crossland sits slightly above the Mokka in Vauxhall’s small SUV line-up, offering a more practical alternative to its stylish sibling. It’s got a choice of two petrol engines - 110hp 1.2 for anyone wanting a manual gearbox, or a 130hp 1.2-litre engine if you’d prefer an automatic. The latter is pricier and less efficient, but has better performance and the advantage of not having to shift gears yourself.
Vauxhall Grandland
The Grandland is Vauxhall’s alternative in the highly competitive midsize SUV segment, facing off against models from various manufacturers that emphasise spacious interiors and versatility. You can still get a diesel engine, a 130hp 1.5, as well as manual or automatic petrol Grandlands with 130hp and 136hp. Plus there’s a 225hp plug-in hybrid model that will do an official 41 miles on electric power alone, although that’s likely to equate to around 30 miles in the real world.
Vauxhall Grandland GSe
The Grandland GSe is the performance-oriented version of the Grandland, and its 300hp plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a petrol engine with two electric motors to make it the most powerful car on sale from Vauxhall. This setup offers impressive performance and the ability to drive short distances solely on electric power, with the battery capable of taking the GSe up to 41 miles on electric power alone.
