Volvo 7 seater range: current models

So, you want a Volvo seven-seater? Let us talk you through your options…

Volvo XC90

The Volvo XC90 has been around for a while now, but it’s still one of the most practical seven-seaters on sale. It combines MPV-style flexibility with the rugged appeal of an SUV. The XC90 is very safe, too. What’s not so great is the slightly dated infotainment system, and a ride that’s on the firm side for a car that’s designed to transport a large family in comfort.

Volvo EX90

The EX90 is Volvo’s pure-electric flagship, a seven-seater that’s big on space, performance, and technology. Safety is a given with any Volvo, but the EX90 should prove a new standard-setter for the brand. Two power outputs are available, either 408hp or 517hp. Either way this is a very quick and luxurious way to get seven people from A to B.

Volvo 7 seater cars FAQs

No, sorry. The Volvo XC60 is not a seven-seater. Whether you are shopping for a new or used XC60 it will have five seats.
Yes, it is. Whether you are looking at the original XC90 which was sold from 2002 to 2015 or the second generation which is still on sale now, the XC90 has always been a seven-seat car.
You can’t buy a new Volvo V70 anymore. Instead, Volvo’s estate range consists of the V60 and V90. However, when the V70 was on sale a third row of seats used to be an option. These were small pop-up seats that emerged from the boot floor, facing backwards. So, you can find some Volvo V70 seven-seaters on the used market.
If we’re talking new cars, the XC90 and EX90 are Volvo’s seven-seat models.
