Current electric Volvo models

There are four electric Volvos available, with the XC40 Recharge having been on sale for a while, along with the C40 Recharge, which is very similar but with a stylish sloping rear roof. The line-up has expanded with the introduction of the Volvo EX30 small SUV, and the Volvo EX90, which is the top-of-the-range flagship SUV.

Volvo C40 Recharge

The Volvo C40 Recharge is essentially a more style-focused version of the XC40 Recharge. That means you get the same cool, minimalist interior, and exciting electric performance. However, the sloping roofline does impact rear seat space somewhat.

Volvo XC40 Recharge

The Volvo XC40 Recharge is a small-ish SUV with stylish looks and a lovely cabin. If you need to make the most of interior space it’s more useful than the C40 Recharge. It offers decent electric range and powerful electric motors, but it’s not the most fun car to pilot down a twisty road.

Volvo EX30

The Volvo EX30 is a small SUV that’s also the most affordable way to own an electric Volvo – and by some margin. Despite this you still get the same good looks on the outside and stylish design inside. It has a pretty small boot and tight rear seat space, though.

Volvo EX90

Space isn’t a problem with the Volvo EX90, which is a large, luxurious SUV that sits at the very top of the range. You also get buckets of the latest driver assistance technology and safety kit. Alternatives will go a bit further on a charge, but not by too much.
