Skoda make a lot of excellent cars these days, there isn’t a weak one in the range, and the best is the Skoda Superb Estate. It also happens to be the best estate on sale.
Superb really isnt a misnomer with this Skoda – its one of the best cars Skoda makes, from a range of excellent cars. The regular Superb is already a practical car, but with an estate body there are few vehicles this side of a van thatll be more useful.
How much space do you get? 633 litres with the rear seats in place, and a cavernous 1,865 litres with them folded – any larger and your voice would start to echo. Critics are universal in their praise of the cars comfort levels too – this may not be the most imaginative interior in the class, but its certainly one youd be happy traveling long distances in. Quality levels are up to scratch too.
Out on the road there are few complaints – the Superb Estate is no Lotus Elise in the corners, but light, easy-to-use controls conspire to make every drive a relaxed affair, and the ride smothers away everything the road can throw at it. Diesel engines are generally the ones to go for – they turn the Superb from a great car to one of the best all-rounders on the market.
As if that all wasnt enough, this is a Skoda – and that means great value. Critics are more than happy with the equipment levels on offer and the economical engines mean low road tax and fuel costs. Sure, its not the cheapest Skoda on sale, but there are few cars with the Superbs space for a similar price. The experts recommend it, and so do we – thats why its the carwow estate car of the year.
