BYD Dolphin Specs & Dimensions

The Dolphin Active represents the entry point to the range, with a useful price cut over the other models. The main difference is a less powerful electric motor which produces just 94hp and has a 0-62mph time of 12.3 seconds. There's also a smaller, 44kWh battery with a range of 211 miles. Otherwise the Active is still well-equipped with a heat pump for improved winter range, 12.8-inch infotainment display, LED headlights, keyless entry and a 360-degree parking system.

The Dolphin Boost gets the same 44kWh battery pack as the Active model but a more powerful 174hp motor, cutting the 0-62mph time from 12.3 to 7.5 seconds. Otherwise equipment is identical apart from 17-inch wheels and an 11kW onboard AC charger.

The Comfort spec gets the larger of the Dolphin’s two battery options, as well as front parking sensors, and heated folding door mirrors, on top of the impressive list of spec that all Dolphins come with. It also gets the faster of the two AC charging options, capable of taking electricity at 11kW rather than the 7kW of cars with the smaller battery option.

The top Dolphin specification is distinguishable by the two-tone paintwork, with the roof a different colour to the bodywork. It also gets a panoramic glass roof as standard, a smartphone wireless charger, rear privacy glass and the eye-catching 17-inch tri-colour alloy wheels.
