Colour guide
Solid - Infra red
Free
Infra Red is a very handsome colour on the Xceed, and it’s a slightly darker, richer red than some of Kia’s other offerings. As with Luna Silver, the contrast-colour elements really help here, giving the red something to visually ‘lean’ against, but it’s a much stronger look than the silver.
Premium paint - Blue Flame
£595
Blue Flame is one of Kia’s best colours, and you can clearly see the influence of BMW’s Portimao Blue in it. It’s a strong blue, but not so loud that it looks OTT and it really suits the Xceed’s shape, bringing out its stronger lines but without seeming too strident.

Premium paint - Fusion white
£595
As with so many crossovers, white paint has the tendency to make the Xceed look like a white good, which is probably not the look you’d want. Fusion’s metallic flake does, arguably, move it slightly past that look, but like silver or grey, this is just a colour that looks a bit too plain on the Xceed’s shape.
Premium paint - Lunar silver
£595
The Xceed’s contrast-colour elements — roof rails, wheelarch extensions and so on — work well with Luna Silver, and help to offset its inherent plain-ness just a little. The problem is, as with Dark Penta Metal, that there are just so many crossovers painted in similar hues to this.
Premium paint - Penta metal
£595
As with the Ceed Sportwagon, which also comes in this colour, Dark Penta Metal is a very dark, very deep metallic grey that’s very classy looking and which should work well on the Xceed’s shape. The problem is that it’s just too common — how many hundreds of other metallic grey crossovers will you see on the roads today?
Premium paint - Phantom black
£595
Phantom Black is a smart colour in itself, and actually fairly classy but the Xceed is quite a quietly styled car overall, so it’s a colour that tends to hide the lines a little too much. A more daring-looking car would work well in this shade, but the Xceed just looks a bit too quiet in black.
Premium paint - Spirit green
£595
The best colour for the Xceed? Almost certainly, yes. This is a brighter, more urgent green than the one Kia offers for the larger Sportage, but arguably that works well to bring out the Xceed’s somewhat more plain styling a little better. It’s a really smart colour this, with just a hint of Porsche about it.
