- New Maserati Grecale Folgore revealed
- Electric version of the Grecale SUV
- 550hp and 850Nm of torque
- 0-60mph in 4.1 seconds
- Up to 310 miles of range
- Due in dealerships in June, priced from £109,905
Orders have opened for the Maserati Grecale Folgore ahead of its arrival in showrooms in June. It’s the Italian firm’s first ever electric car, and it has two electric motors with a combined 550hp.
This alternative to the forthcoming Porsche Macan EV and the Mercedes EQC also has up to 310 miles of range, as well as some unique styling tweaks over the petrol-powered Grecale. However, you’ll need deep pockets – with a starting price tag of £109,905, it’s more than £40,000 more expensive than the entry-level Porsche Macan EV, and £20,000 more than a Mercedes EQE SUV.
New Maserati Grecale Folgore design
At a glance, the new Maserati Grecale Folgore looks a lot like the standard Grecale. It does have some unique design features to set it apart.
This electric car has a blanked-off grille for better aerodynamics, and you get the same front bumper as the Grecale Trofeo. This means you get aggressive-looking air intakes lower down.
Down the side, you also have some unique alloy wheels for the Folgore. They start at 19 inches, but 20- and 21-inch wheels are also available. Also exclusive to this model is the matte brown paint finish.
The main difference between this and the petrol version at the rear is the lack of an exhaust. You get a sporty-looking diffuser, as well as a neat roof spoiler.
New Maserati Grecale Folgore motors and performance
This new Maserati Grecale Folgore doesn’t use the 760hp tri-motor setup from the forthcoming GranTurismo Folgore. Instead, it has a dual-motor setup.
You have 550hp and 820Nm of torque under your right foot. That’s 27hp less than you get in the Kia EV6 GT, but it’s 63hp more than the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT.
It’s enough power to launch the Folgore from 0-60mph in 4.1 seconds, more than half a second slower than the Kia but slightly quicker than the Mustang.
New Maserati Grecale Folgore batteries and range
This new electric SUV has a 105kWh battery with 310 miles of range. That’s nine miles down on the Tesla Model Y, but it trumps the Mercedes EQC by 65 miles.

The Grecale Folgore can charge at 150kW DC if you can find a charger which supports it. This means you can top up from 20-80% in 29 minutes, or add 62 miles of range in just nine minutes.
When does the Maserati Grecale Folgore go on sale?
Orders are open now for the Grecale Folgore, and the first cars should arrive with customers by June 2024.
With a starting price of £109,905, it’s significantly pricier than any alternative of a similar size or performance – a Porsche Macan EV starts from less than £70,000, and even the Turbo variant with a Grecale-beating 639hp costs less than £100,000.
It will be very easy to up the price of your Grecale Folgore with options, too. The four optional ‘Fuoriserie’ paint colours cost more than £15,000, and there’s an extensive catalogue of extras and accessories too.
