The big draw of this GLC model over the standard versions is the boost in performance, though there’s more to this spec than just its turn of speed. Also fitted to the AMG are sporty adaptive suspension, stylish 20-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats and convenience tech like keyless start and a 360-degrees parking camera.

AMG Night Edition versions of the GLC SUV are fitted with the AMG Night package, which has blacked-out features instead of exterior chrome, black interior trim and matte black 21-inch alloy wheels. There’s carbon fibre and black leather inside, with red stitching, plus a Burmester sound system and head-up display.

The dark and moody Edition Midnight comes with a choice of three metallic paint shades, plus 21-inch matte black alloy wheels. It has the Dynamic Plus package and carbon-ceramic brakes to improve performance, plus clever ‘Digital Light’ headlights. Inside it’s a symphony of carbon fibre and black leather with red stitching.
