Replacing SE, Match trim adds £900-worth of equipment for an extra £100

Volkswagen has revealed SE models of the Polo supermini will be phased out in favour of new Match trim – adding £900-worth of equipment for an additional outlay of just £100.

In addition to the SE’s already decent kit list – which includes air-conditioning, a touchscreen infotainment system and 15-inch alloy wheels – Match adds useful equipment such as cruise control and cornering fog lights that illuminate the verge in bends. Front and rear parking sensors are another handy upgrade that make slotting the Polo into tight spaces that bit easier, while tinted windows and revised alloy wheels of the same size keep things looking fresh.

The Match can be paired with a variety of petrol and diesel engines and can be had in either three- or five-door forms.

List prices start from a little under £13,000 on the road.
