German tuning house Brabus has got its hands on the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door 63 S E-Performance and given it a much catchier name: the Rocket 1000.

Obviously the changes extend beyond a new identity, this tuned four door coupe now has 1,000hp and an extensive body kit to make it look more aggressive.

New Brabus Rocket 1000 design

Brabus is well known for creating some crazy looking cars, and the new Rocket 1000 is certain to turn heads.

It has a completely different front bumper to the standard Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door with massive air intakes and a lower splitter. The wheel arches have been massively widened as well, and there are some side skirts as well.

The Rocket 1000 is riding on 21-inch alloy wheels up front and 22s at the back to give it a more muscular appearance, something which is added to by the rear bumper. It’s mostly finished in exposed carbon fibre, and the massive spoiler is unique to this car as well.

New Brabus 1000 engine and performance

No one ever accused the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door 63 S E Performance of being lethargic; it probably takes longer to say its name than it takes the car to go from 0-60mph. This hasn’t stopped Brabus from extracting even more power out of it though.

It has fitted new turbochargers with higher boost pressure, increased the displacement from 4.0-litres to 4.5-litres by boring out the engine and fitting a new crankshaft and fitting a new exhaust system. The result of all the fettling is 1,000hp and 1,820Nm of torque when combined with the electric motor, although this has had to be limited to 1,620Nm of torque in reality.

That’s a whopping 157hp and 220Nm more than the standard car, meaning it’ll do 0-60mph 0.3 of a second quicker at just 2.6 seconds. That’s enough performance to give a Porsche 911 Turbo S a good run for its money.

How much is the new Brabus Rocket 1000?

You’ll need pretty deep pockets to add the Brabus Rocket 1000 to your collection, because it costs an eye watering 450,000 Euros. That’s around £385,000 making it around £200,000 more expensive than the car on which it’s based.

You do get more than just power and styling for that cash though, because the interior has been completely re-trimmed in luxurious leather and there are plenty of Brabus-exclusive trims as well. You’ll have to be quick to snap one up though, because just 25 will be made worldwide.
