SUVs are really popular these days, and there are loads of cool ones coming out next year. Here are 10 of the most exciting SUVs you can expect to see in 2025.

Seven out of the 10 best-selling cars in the UK right now are SUVs. Us Brits love the high driving position and everyday practicality they offer, as well as the rugged styling.

There are plenty of new SUVs coming out over the next couple of years, ranging from affordable family wagons to high-end luxury off-roaders. Here’s a full rundown of what you can expect in 2025 and beyond.

The 10 most exciting new SUVs coming soon are:

  1. Dacia Bigster
  2. Audi Q3
  3. BMW iX3
  4. Hyundai Ioniq 9
  5. Tesla Model Y
  6. Volvo EX60
  7. Porsche Cayenne EV
  8. Range Rover EV
  9. Volkswagen T-Roc
  10. Mercedes EQC

1. Dacia Bigster

This is the new Dacia Bigster and, as the name suggests, it’s a new SUV which is bigger than the Duster. The design is similarly rugged compared to that car, however it’s a lot longer and therefore more practical inside.

The Bigster also features an all-new hybrid system for the brand, which uses a four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor, and it makes a combined 155hp. This new Citroen C5 Aircross alternative will go on sale next year, with prices expected to start from under £30,000.

You can check out the Citroen C5 Aircross if you’re looking for a budget-friendly SUV which is available now.

2. Audi Q3

The current Audi Q3 has been around for quite some years now, and a new one is just around the corner. It follows the recently revealed Audi Q5, and you can see a few styling similarities under the Q3’s camo – such as the slim headlights and wide grille.

You can expect a similar interior layout to that car as well, meaning the curved dashboard display could be featured. A range of petrol, diesel and hybrid engines is also likely. Audi has been pretty busy this year with the Q6 e-tron, A6 e-tron, A5 and Q5 all getting their debuts. You’ll therefore probably have to wait until early 2025 before seeing the new Q3.

Can’t wait for the new Q3? The current car is still a great choice if you’re looking for a posh SUV.

3. BMW iX3

This is the BMW Neue Klasse X, a concept car which gives you a look at what the next iX3 will look like. This is the first time BMW has made the X3 and iX3 distinctly different models, with the electric car taking a lot of design cues from the Neue Klasse saloon.

Exact technical details are still thin on the ground, but the Neue Klasse X will use a new generation of batteries which will be 28%more efficient than the current range of BMW EVs.

The current iX3 is still on sale for now if you don’t want to wait until 2025 to get behind the wheel of an electric BMW SUV.

4. Hyundai Ioniq 9

Hyundai is revealing its equivalent to the Kia EV9 in November. The long-awaited Ioniq 9 was first unveiled in concept form a few years ago, and it wowed onlookers with its futuristic styling and whacky interior.

Exact technical details are thin on the ground for now, however the Ioniq 9 will be very similar to the Kia EV9 under the skin. This means you can expect to see the same 100kWh battery as that car. It’ll go on sale in 2025, with prices expected to start from around £60,000.

Until then, check out our review of the Kia EV9. It’s a funky-looking electric SUV with six or seven seats, and it’s mechanically similar to the Ioniq 9.

5.Tesla Model Y

It’s been over a year now since the updated Tesla Model 3 was first revealed, and the popular Model Y SUV is due to receive similar treatment in 2025. Styling changes in line with the saloon are expected, meaning slim new lights and tweaked bumpers are likely.

It’s also a safe bet that the new Model Y – codenamed “Juniper” – will get an overhauled interior with improved materials and a different dashboard design. It could also get a slight price cut over the current car, as was the case with the Model 3.

The current Tesla Model Y is still on sale in the meantime if you can’t wait for this new one.

6. Volvo EX60

Volvo is working on another new electric SUV to sit in between the EX30 and EX90. Surprise surprise, it’ll be called the EX60. The Carwow team had a go at previewing this car’s design, with plenty of inspiration taken from other electric Volvo models.

There are few exact details about what’s powering the EX60, other than the fact it’s electric. It won’t share parts with the larger EX90 though, because it’ll be based on an all-new platform. Close to 400 miles of range would be our best guess for now.

Check out the Audi Q4 e-tron if you want a mid-sized electric SUV before 2026.

7. Porsche Cayenne EV

An all-electric Porsche Cayenne is on the horizon, with this alternative to the BMW iX due for a reveal in 2025. It’ll be sold alongside the current petrol-powered Cayenne, which will also be enhanced for better efficiency.

The electric Cayenne will use the same collection of parts as the Audi Q6 e-tron and Porsche Macan EV, meaning you can expect to see a 100kWh battery pack with around 300 miles of range.

For a luxury electric SUV you can enjoy today, the BMW iX is worth looking at. It’s great to drive, comfortable and packed with tech.

8. Range Rover EV

Sticking with luxury SUVs for a moment, an all-electric version of the iconic Range Rover is coming in the next few months. It looks as though the standard car’s styling will survive more or less unscathed, but there will be plenty of changes under the skin.

Exactly what is powering this Volvo EX90 alternative is unconfirmed, however Range Rover has said that the performance will be similar to the V8 model. That car has 530hp and will do 0-60mph in 4.3 seconds.

If you’re looking for an alternative to this car which is available now, the Mercedes EQS SUV is a good option. It’s supremely comfortable and loaded with all the latest tech.

9. Skoda Epiq

A baby Skoda EV is on the way to provide buyers with an all-electric alternative to the brand’s own Kamiq. Called the Epiq, it’s set to be one of the best-value electric SUVs on the market with a projected starting price of around £21,300.

New Skoda Epiq

Skoda has also promised over 248 miles of range from the Epiq thanks to a 56kWh battery, and you can expect plenty of parts from the Volkswagen ID2 to be used as well. Sales will start in 2025.

For a budget-friendly EV you can drive away today, the MG4 is a great option. It undercuts alternatives by several thousand pounds, but you don’t feel short-changed in terms of standard features.

10. Volkswagen T-Roc

The current Volkswagen T-Roc is one of the most popular cars on sale in the UK, and an all-new version has been spotted out and about during development testing. It doesn’t look like the design will be radically different to the current car’s but it appears to be modernised.

Don’t expect an all-electric version of the T-Roc to be available, that’s reserved for VW’s ID range of cars. It’s more likely to be offered with a similar range of petrol and hybrid engines as the current car.

The current Volkswagen T-Roc is still on sale in the meantime if you just can’t wait for the new one to arrive.
