The interior isn’t as nice as the Enyaq’s, but it’s still a decent option worthy of your consideration.

A Mustang as an SUV? Yes, indeed. The Ford Mustang Mach-E has little in common with the classic American muscle car but is instead a crossover SUV embracing electric power. Its primary drawback, however, is comfort, because the firm suspension jiggles about over bumps.

If you’re after something a bit left-field, why not check out the Genesis GV60? High-quality materials, super-fast DC charging and up to 490hp make it a strong contender. However, its starting price of over £54,000 reflects its premium positioning. It’s also slightly smaller than the Enyaq, offering less rear legroom and boot space. For buyers prioritising style and luxury over space, the GV60 is an excellent and unique choice.

Rounding off our list is the sole Japanese alternative, the Nissan Ariya. Its strengths lie in its stylish exterior design, as well as its spacious cabin.
