The Skoda Elroq is an affordable electric SUV that combines everyday practicality, modern technology, and great value. But what really makes it stand out? Here are five key features that set it apart from alternatives like the Renault Scenic and Peugeot E-3008.
1. Skoda’s classic Simply Clever features
As expected from Skoda, the Elroq offers a range of smart storage solutions. Alongside a generously sized boot, it includes practical features such as an umbrella hidden in the door, an adjustable boot floor which you can raise to get rid of the load lip, and plenty of cubby holes throughout the cabin. These small but thoughtful details make everyday driving more convenient and ensure plenty of space for personal belongings.
Additional handy touches include a net for your charging cables, a funnel built into the washer fluid reservoir, smartphone pockets for rear passengers, and even an ice scraper with a tyre tread depth gauge hidden in the tailgate.

For its price point at around £30,000, the Skoda Elroq offers an impressive number of standard features. All cars come with a 13.0-inch touchscreen, keyless entry, cruise control, LED headlights and 19-inch alloy wheels. Optional extras such as massaging seats, a head-up display, an electric tailgate, a 360° camera, and adaptive cruise control make it feel far more upmarket than its price tag suggests.
A panoramic sunroof further enhances the sense of space inside the cabin, while adaptive ambient lighting, which adjusts to the time of day, is also a neat touch.
3. Intelligent pre-conditioning for Maximum Efficiency
The Elroq is equipped with an innovative thermal management system that keeps the battery at the optimum temperature. This not only extends driving range in winter but also shortens charging times and increases battery longevity.
Pre-conditioning the battery ensures efficient charging, while an optional heat pump provides energy-efficient cabin heating. For added comfort, the Elroq also offers an optional three-zone climate control system, a heated steering wheel, and heated seats for rear passengers – perfect for chilly UK winters.
4. Advanced Driver Assistance for Comfort and Safety
Skoda has packed the Elroq with an impressive suite of driver assistance systems to make everyday driving easier. All models get a reversing camera, blind-spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition and lane-keeping assist as standard.
Optionally you can also get adaptive cruise control which can keep you a safe distance from the car in front, steer to keep you in lane and even handle stop-start traffic automatically, making long drives much more relaxing.
5. High-Tech Infotainment
The Skoda Elroq features a state-of-the-art infotainment system with a large touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This allows seamless smartphone integration, making in-car connectivity more convenient than ever.
Additionally, the Skoda app enables remote control of key functions, from pre-heating the interior ahead of your commute to monitoring the charge status in real-time. The system also includes an intelligent voice assistant, Laura, with built-in ChatGPT AI which can answer more complex questions than a traditional system. Real-time traffic data ensures that you can avoid congestion and reach your destination as efficiently as possible.
Skoda Elroq alternatives
The Skoda Elroq may offer loads of great features, but it’s not perfect. The vanilla styling may put you off, and some SUVs offer more range as well. There are a couple of alternatives worth considering if this puts you off.
The first is the Renault Scenic E-Tech. This is a great-looking electric SUV with a fantastic Google-based infotainment system. It’s just as easy to use as your smartphone and offers built-in apps like Google Maps and Spotify. The interior is also really spacious, although bits of it feel cheap compared to the Skoda.
You could also go for a Peugeot E-3008. It not only looks stunning from all angles, it also has an interior which is high-quality enough to teach more expensive cars a thing or two. You can also get an E-3008 with up to 435 miles of range, 75 miles more than the Elroq. It’s just a shame that the Peugeot is a bit jiggly over bumps.
