Skoda Elroq vRS revealed: the sensible EV goes sporty
April 03, 2025 by Tom Wiltshire

Car changing is a big deal
The new Skoda Elroq is the most powerful and sportiest version of Skoda’s compact electric SUV yet – packing 340hp and capable of 0-62mph in just 5.4 seconds
The latest member of Skoda’s vRS family is here. The new Elroq vRS is the latest Skoda electric car to get a vRS makeover, following the Enyaq and Enyaq Coupe, and like those cars, it’s a fairly standard application of more power, sportier styling and generous standard equipment.
The regular Skoda Elroq hasn’t been on sale long but the new vRS version already looks as if it will improve on a winning formula with unchanged practicality and little sacrifice in range. With 340hp, it’s not on the level of serious EV performance monsters such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N or Tesla Model 3 Performance – instead, it should provide a sporty-looking alternative to the VW ID3 GTX, the AWD Hyundai Ioniq 5 or the Kia EV6 GT-Line S.
The first thing you’ll notice about the Elroq vRS is the visual makeover. Not only is it available in the eye-searing Hyper Green paint finish, but it gets a gloss black ‘tech deck’ front fascia and illuminated grille. Gloss black trim also features on the window trim, the mirror caps and the Skoda lettering on the front and rear.

Full Matrix LED headlights as well as dynamic LED taillights also feature, and they all combine to create a light show when the car is locked or unlocked. Alloy wheels come in sizes up to 21-inches, and get vRS-specific aero trims.
Inside, there’s a similar makeover. The trim is mostly black, with microfibre upholstery and lime-green stitching. Interior surfaces are finished in fake carbonfibre – sadly not the real stuff – while the sporty, three-spoke steering wheel is leather-covered with more green stitching. There are also vRS badges adorning the wheel.

Standard equipment is generous with an electric driver’s seat, triple-zone climate control, a 13.0-inch infotainment screen and augmented reality head-up display – as you’d hope for from the flagship Elroq.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper vRS if the sporty features didn’t extend below the skin. The Elroq vRS features four-wheel drive, with electric motors on both axles producing a combined 340hp. That’s the same as in the larger Enyaq vRS, but the Elroq’s smaller size means it pips it on acceleration – 0-62mph comes up in just 5.4 seconds, the same as a Honda Civic Type R.
It’ll do a claimed 340 miles on a charge, which isn’t too far off the 360 miles of the ‘Edition 85’ model.
In addition, the chassis has been lowered by 15mm at the front and 10mm at the rear, and adaptive dampers are fitted to allow you to adjust the suspension harder or softer depending on your preference. There are also more powerful front brakes, and a choice of two external ‘engine’ noises.

First deliveries of the Elroq vRS are expected in the summer. Pricing hasn’t been announced, but expect a rise over the current range-topper – the £41,600 Sportline 85. If it’s similar to the Enyaq range, expect pricing in the range of £44,000 – £45,000.
