Colour guide
Solid - Aurora green
Free
We’re not quite sure why this Aurora green paint is ‘special’ but while it’s a bit on the dark side, it does suit the very handsome Nissan Ariya quite well. It’s already a good looking car, and as with so many other, dark green just adds an extra touch of classiness.
Metallic - Gun metallic
£625
A bit like the black option, Gun metallic is just a touch too ordinary for a car like the Ariya, and from some angles can make the EV crossover look too much like its cheaper brother, the Qashqai. Who wants that?

Pearl - Black pearl
£745
A simple black metallic, this looks good enough, but really the Ariya’s styling deserves a better colour to make it truly stand out. This is fine, but nothing more.
Pearl - Ceramic grey
£745
Technically, Ceramic grey counts as a metallic paint, but there’s a faint hint of matte finish to it (thankfully without the extra care needed for proper matte paints). It’s an interesting colour, being off-white with an almost-flat finish, but it’s possibly a little too plain. You’d lose it on a foggy day.
Two tone - Akatsuki copper/pearl black roof and doors mirrors
£1,275
It’s an expensive option, but Akatsuki copper (the word means ‘dawn’ or ‘daybreak’ in Japanese) is the colour the Ariya was born for. No surprise that Nissan used it as the launch colour. It’s also the first of the paint options to come with contrast pearlescent black roof and door mirrors, which really ramps up the style.
Two tone - Warm silver/pearl black roof and doors mirrors
£1,275
Silver is a bit of a default choice for a mid-size crossover such as this, but the Ariya’s inherent stylishness helps to carry if off, and the contrast effect of the pearlescent black on the roof, mirrors, and grille really help too.
Two tone special - Blue pearl/pearl black roof and door mirrors
£1,395
This is quite a bright blue, and while that really ought to work on a car as good looking as the Ariya, it has the effect of making it look ever so slightly cheap. You’d be better off with the standard Aurora green, which has a little touch of sea-blue in it, than this even with the contrast black roof.
Two tone special - White pearl/pearl black roof and door mirrors
£1,395
With a genuinely deep lustre, this White pearl does look very smart on the Ariya, managing to avoid the ‘white goods’ effect that some flatter, plainer whites can have. It’s not the most thrilling colour, but if you want to play safe, this is a good (but expensive) option.
