A sensible and safe colour for the Zoe’s free paint option, but as with many electric cars, you’re running the dangerous gamut of making it look like a ‘white good’. The Zoe is quite a neat looking car, so really it deserves a better colour than this.

Metallic - Diamond black
£600
Black, even metallic black, is always in danger of swamping a car’s styling. While that does happen to the Zoe if you pick Diamond black, there are some little yellow contrast highlights built into the front bumper and air intake, which helps to lift everything a little.
Metallic - Highland grey
£600
Metallic - Shadow grey
£600
Shadow grey is about as conservative a colour as you can get at the moment — almost everyone buys their car in metallic grey — but it does look smart on the Zoe, and dare we say it, it almost makes it look like a more expensive car thanks to the warm gold tones under the main grey coat.
