Style
Sumptuous doesn’t even begin to describe just how opulent the Ghost feels. The trims used are beyond compare, be they the woods, metals, carpets or leather. Everything has been chosen to feel the very best it can.
You can spend hours on the Rolls-Royce online configurator, building your Ghost exactly how you want it, because there’s a vast array of colour, trim and material options.
Then of course, you can plunder the options list, which can include embossed pillows for the rear seats, powered curtains to keep the outside world out, a rear-seat fridge, and a ‘starlight’ roof lining designed to emulate a night sky, complete with the odd shooting star. Alternatively, you can choose the much more humdrum panoramic glass roof.
Whichever specification you choose, you’ll end up with a luxury saloon like no other.
Infotainment
The Rolls-Royce infotainment system is based on the one seen in much more common-or-garden BMWs, so it can be controlled using either the rotary controller between the front seats (and the one in the rear armrest), or by using the central touchscreen.
The system works perfectly well, and has at least been given new graphics and fonts to fit in with the much more restrained Rolls-Royce ambience.
Obviously, the usuals such as satellite-navigation and DAB radio are all present and correct, as well as a multitude of ways to configure every system just the way you want it. However, should you prefer to mirror your smartphone, you can only do so if it’s an iPhone; Apple CarPlay is fitted but Android Auto is not.
