SEAT Mii Electric Review and Prices

The SEAT Mii Electric is just as small as the standard Mii, but it’s even easier to drive in cities thanks to its perky electric motor. Alternatives can travel further on a single charge, though.

Find out more about the SEAT Mii Electric

Is the SEAT Mii Electric a good car?

The SEAT Mii Electric is the Spanish firm’s first all-electric model, and it’s one of the most affordable new electric cars you can buy. This diminutive hatchback is an alternative to the likes of the Nissan Leaf, but its smaller size means it’s even more suited to nipping through rush hour traffic and sneaking into super-tight parking spaces.

In these respects, the SEAT Mii Electric is quite similar to the Renault Zoe; although it can’t quite match the Renault’s sci-fi styling. It certainly looks more like a spaceship’s tumble dryer than its high-speed escape pod, that’s for sure.

Inside, the SEAT Mii Electric looks pretty similar to the standard Mii – albeit with some redesigned seats and a few subtle dashboard tweaks. You get an equally minimalist interior with a fairly basic smartphone-based infotainment system, but at least you can now get an app that’ll let you set the Mii Electric’s climate control settings before you get into the car.

The SEAT Mii Electric is one of the most affordable new electric cars you can buy, but it doesn’t quite have the same visual pizzazz as the slinkier Renault Zoe.

The biggest difference between the standard SEAT Mii and the Mii Electric lies – unsurprisingly – under the bonnet. This zero-emissions model comes with an 84hp electric motor and a battery pack big enough to power it for up to 162 miles between charges. That’s some way off what you’ll manage in the likes of the more expensive Nissan Leaf and Renault Zoe, but not bad for a car primarily designed for pottering about in town.

Thankfully, SEAT’s managed to store all the Mii Electric’s batteries under the floor without them encroaching into the boot. As a result, you get the same 251 litres of space as the standard car.
