SE Technology models don’t make a lot of sense. They get exactly the same kit as SE cars, except their eight-inch touchscreen has built in sat-nav. When the basic system already has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto – which allows you to mirror the sat-nav on your smartphone – it seems a bit pointless. Kit carried over from SE models includes remote central locking, LED headlights, cruise control, climate control and rear parking sensors.

SE L models give a more premium feel to the Octavia’s interior without the tacky touches you get in more expensive Laurin & Klement trim. The premium feel comes in the form a part-leather/part-alcantara interior and you also get automatic emergency brakes, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and 17-inch alloy wheels. SE L models get the Amundsen infotainment system fitted to the SE Technology model, which has built in sat-nav.

As the name suggests, Sportline models get sporty design upgrades, including sports seats with a fabric and leather upholstery combination, sports suspension that's a bit lower than the standard car, and a drive mode selector that can let you choose between a more responsive engine or better fuel efficiency.
