Volkswagen Sharan (2009-2015) interior
There’s not much to get excited about inside the Sharan but, if you’re buying a car like this, ‘excitement’ is likely way down the priority list.
Style
What the VW does really well, though, is work exactly how you expect it to. Everything is arranged with logical simplicity – you get big knobs for the volume and ventilation controls – and the standard infotainment system means that you’re not faced with a confusing number of buttons.
Build quality is exactly how you would expect it to be, most of the plastics feel soft and high-quality, gaps in the trim are consistent and everything feels like it will deflect years of abuse.

Infotainment
S and SE models of the Sharan get VW’s basic Composition Media system which is simple to operate and can be used to write and receive text messages, as well as giving tips on how to save fuel. The system includes a USB connection and DAB digital radio.
SE Nav and SEL models get the Discovery Navigation system that features 2 and 3D maps, and can relay information on nearby parking spaces, fuel prices and news. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay cost extra as part of the £130 Car-Net App-Connect system.
