Colour guide
Metallic - Cloud blue
Free
Cloud blue is a curious colour, because it looks almost white in most lights, but there's a hint of blue that you really notice when you get up close. If you think white is a bit plain but want something that's not too in-yer-face, it's a good option.
Metallic - Crystal white
Free
This attractive shade of Crystal White is a no-cost colour option, but you can only option it on your XC40 Recharge if you go for the mid-spec Plus and top-spec Ultimate models. It comes with a contrasting black roof, which further enhances this car’s premium image. Just be prepared to spend a fair amount of time keeping it looking clean over the winter, though.

Metallic - Fjord blue
Free
Fjord Blue is arguably the most adventurous colour you could option on your XC40 Recharge. With green undertones it lends an appealingly aquatic look to this handsome SUV, and looks fantastic in contrast to the car’s black roof and bumper surrounds. Being a darker colour it’ll likely show up a fair bit of muck and grime, however.
Metallic - Onyx black
Free
While Onyx Black is undoubtedly a handsome colour in its own right, with a classy metallic sparkle that’ll look great in direct sunlight, it does make the XC40 Recharge a bit boxy and heavy in comparison to the lighter shades that are available. You also lose the attractive contrast effect with the roof and bumpers, and it’ll be the hardest colour option to keep looking tidy.
Metallic - Sage green
Free
This mossy shade of green is very subtle, thanks to its rich grey undertones. It’s a no-cost colour option, but as with Crystal White you can only get it on XC40 Recharge Plus and Ultimate models. It should do a decent job of masking any road grime you pick up over winter, and it looks extremely smart in contrast to the black roof and A-pillars that come as standard with this colour.
Metallic - Sand dune
Free
Metallic - Silver Dawn
Free
Silver Dawn makes for a great choice if strong residual values are a top priority. Unlike many of the other colour options available on the XC40 Recharge, you won’t get a contrasting black roof here, but even so this is still an exceptionally attractive colour option for this electric SUV. It should do a good job of masking any muck and grime you pick up on your travels too.
Metallic - Vapour grey
Free
Vapour Grey suits the stylish but subdued image of the Volvo XC40 Recharge. Conservative colour options such as this always prove popular amongst used buyers, but it won’t do quite as good a job at masking road grime as lighter shades of silver will.
