Audi S3 Sportback (2017-2020) interior

Build quality takes centre stage and that only helps the solid image of the S3.

Style

There's a decent amount of stowage in the cabin that will take bottles, phones and wallets

The Audi S3 Sportback’s cabin is as well-made and beautifully appointed as the standard A3, but with added sports-car flair. Yes, the differences are subtle, mainly the body-hugging sport seats and the racy flat-bottomed steering wheel, but they only add to the appeal of the already premium-feeling interior.

A fantastically built cockpit that is missing a bit of flair

Infotainment

There's a decent amount of stowage in the cabin that will take bottles, phones and wallets

The 5.8-inch screen that controls most of the car’s systems is very easy to navigate with the rotary dial positioned between the front seats – it’s less distracting to use on the move than the touchscreen in the VW Golf R. It also makes many buttons and switchgear redundant and the Audi S3 Sportback has an uncluttered and easy to learn dashboard layout as a result.

Optionally available is Audi’s brilliant virtual cockpit. It replaces the conventional dials with a 12.3-inch display that can bring a wealth of information right in front of you. The most useful feature has to be the ability to have the sat-nav map in front of you leaving the central infotainment screen for the passenger.
