Best new Kia models coming by 2030: all you need to know

Car changing is a big deal
Since the space-aged Kia EV6 came out a couple of years ago the Korean brand has been on a roll. Here’s a glimpse at what to expect over the next few years.
New Kia models coming in 2024
New Kia EV6
The Kia EV6 has been around for a few years now, not that you’d notice from the futuristic design. This electric SUV is still looking fresh, but that hasn’t stopped Kia from giving it a mid-life update with a new face.
Beyond the tweaked styling, there’s also a slightly revised interior with some new trim options, as well as new interior technology. But the biggest change has happened under the skin.
The 77kWh battery has been ditched in favour of an 84kWh pack. The range is yet to be confirmed, however you can expect a healthy increase over the current car’s 328-mile figure.
New Kia Picanto
The new Kia Picanto is on sale now, and it has the potential to be the best-value small car on sale today. It starts from £15,595, and you get plenty of kit as standard including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control and lane-keeping assist.
It’s just a facelifted version of the current Picanto, but the front end has been given a radical makeover with headlights inspired by the large EV9. There are also some new tail lights with a light bar across the bootlid.
There are two engines to choose from in the new Picanto, a 1.0-litre non-turbo unit and a 1.2-litre turbocharged engine.
New Kia EV3
It’s been around a year since the Kia EV3 concept was first unveiled, and the production version of this dinky new electric SUV is set to be revealed in the coming weeks. It’s Kia’s answer to the Volvo EX30, and it’s been spotted testing a few times now.
The styling is pretty similar to the EV9’s, and the production car is likely to retain similar styling to the concept, as was the case for the EV9.

New Kia EV5
Following the launch of the EV9, Kia has photocopied it at 75% to create the EV5. Okay, so that’s a little harsh, but this SUV does share a lot of styling cues with the larger EV9.
It has a similar boxy shape, to its larger stablemate, although the slim headlights do and a different, more angular look to them. The interior is also similar to the EV9’s, albeit with one less row of seats.
Under the skin, you can have up to an 83kWh battery with an impressive 447 miles of range. Expect a price tag of around £40,000 if this car comes to the UK.
New Kia EV4
Kia is taking on the Tesla Model 3 with its first electric saloon: the EV4. It’s certainly a bold-looking thing, with plenty of bold angles and complex curves, and the design is just as interesting on the inside.
The cabin is packed with sustainable materials, including a hemp-based material on the centre console. There’s the usual array of big screens on the dashboard, and the whacky square steering wheel is a cool touch.
There are no details of what’s powering the new EV4, however you can expect it to share parts with cars like the EV5 and EV9 when it goes on sale in the next few years.
