Because it has contrasting black colour parts, such as the lower reaches of the doors and bumpers, and the under-bumper ‘bash panel’ the GLA almost manages to make Polar white look respectable. Ultimately, though, it’s just too pain and flat, and makes it look like a rental.

Metallic - Cosmos black
£625
If it’s a really bright, sunny day then a GLA in Cosmos black can look pretty smart and classy. At other times, it’s just a bit too plain and lacking in interest. File it under ‘fine’ but no more than that.
Metallic - High-tech silver
£625
Metallic - Mountain grey
£625
Mountain grey just looks too plain on the GLA, and it makes the car blend in with the hordes of other, similarly sized SUVs, almost all of which seem to be painted a similar shade of metallic grey. On its own, it works fine, but you’ll lose it in a car park.
Metallic - Spectral blue
£625
Manufaktur metallic - Patagonia red
£825
A really good colour this, and arguably worth the extra expense over a regular metallic. The colour is really deep and satisfying, and has classy undertones of burgundy which mean it works well under cloudy skies.
Manufaktur magno - Mountain grey
£1,825
The Magno part of this paint choice means that it’s a matte-finish version of regular Mountain grey. Llike its metallic counterpart, it really needs a bright, sunny day to work properly, otherwise it’s just too plain and dull. It’s certainly not worth the massive price premium.
