SEAT Alhambra sizes and dimensions guide
August 28, 2015 by carwow staff
SEAT’s Alhambra seven-seat MPV has been extensively updated for 2015. It still shares many components with the excellent Volkswagen Sharan and is regularly commended by critics for its balance of frugality, handling and practicality.
If you’re tempted by one, read our dimensions guide to see if it’ll fit into your life. If you’re taken with its space and quality, put the SEAT Alhambra in our car configurator to see how much carwow could help you save.
Exterior dimensions
It’s not so surprising to discover that the Alhambra takes quite a lot of space up on the road, considering it can seat seven full-size adults. In comparison, the Alhambra is nearly 300mm longer than the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso and it’s just over 100mm wider than a Volvo V40 hatchback. It’s exactly the same width, in fact, as the Audi R8 supercar.
This means it won’t be the easiest car in the world to manoeuvre in tight spaces or to park. You can get parking sensors, however, and its great visibility and light controls make wielding this big easier than you might think.
Length | 4,854mm |
Width (including mirrors) | 2,081mm |
Wheelbase | 2,919mm |
Height (including roof rails) | 1,740mm |
Interior dimensions
There’s loads of head- and legroom for all passengers, and even the rearmost seats are spacious enough to carry two full grown adults on long journeys. This is thanks to the Alhambra’s tall, square body. It’s one of the most spacious MPVs on the market.
Front headroom | 1,074mm |
Second row headroom | 964mm |
Front legroom | 866mm |
Second row legroom | 698mm |
Second row elbow room | 1,578mm |
Third row elbow room | 1,254mm |
Luggage capacity
With all three rows of seats in place the boot carries 267 litres – about the same as a supermini. When the rearmost seats are folded, this increases to 809 litres. You can fold the second row completely flat to create a van-rivalling 2,297 litres of space. It’s not just the boot which impresses, there are loads of storage areas all over the interior for a family’s paraphernalia.
All seats up | 267 litres |
Third row folded | 809 litres |
Second and third row folded | 2,297 litres |
Turning circle
The SEAT has an impressive turning circle, measuring 11.9 metres kerb-to-kerb. To put that into perspective, it’s exactly the same as the much smaller BMW X3 SUV. It’s also exactly the same figure achieved by the Volkswagen Sharan, but it’s beaten by the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso by 0.6m.
Turning circle | 11.9 metres |
Fuel tank capacity
The SEAT Alhambra has a sizeable 73-litre fuel tank allowing the most efficient diesel version to cover up to 925 miles on a single tank.
Fuel tank | 73 litres |
Towing
The SEAT Alhambra’s maximum towing weight varies depending on which engine you select. For all diesel engines, the maximum braked towing capacity is 2,400kg and 2,000kg for the petrol version.
Weight
The lightest Alhambra weighs 1,755kg with the 1.4 TSI 150 engine and the heaviest is the SE Lux model with the 2.0-litre TDI 184 engine – that weighs 1,881kg.
Lightest | 1,755kg |
