Mat’s new daily driver revealed: the Porsche 911 Turbo S
June 17, 2022 by Jamie Edkins

Mat’s got his hands on a new long-term test car; the Porsche 911 Turbo S. He’s going to be living with this supercar over the coming months to find out what it’s like to live with.

As daily drivers go, this is a pretty rapid one. It has a rear-mounted 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six putting out 650hp and 800Nm of torque. This goes to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

This Turbo S is fairly understated for a Porsche, something which is helped by the GT Metallic Silver paint scheme. It’s fitted with 20-inch wheels at the front and 21-inch wheels at the rear, and this is identifiable as the Turbo S by the wider rear arches and large spoiler at the back.

Step inside and you’ll find the cabin is properly luxurious for a supercar. It’s festooned with leather and solid metal, and this car has what’s known as the Heritage Design Package. This includes a contrasting black dashboard, the very cool corduroy seats and some green details on the gauge cluster.

It’s not the most practical daily driver, especially for someone with a baby, however it does have Isofix on the front passenger seat and you can just about squeeze someone into the rear. There’s even enough boot space up front for a trip to the supermarket.

The starting price of the Porsche 911 Turbo S is £156,000, however our car is fitted with a few optional extras. These include an electric sliding sunroof, that Heritage Design Package and some body coloured trim panels, amongst other things. All in, our car costs £170,000.
