Drag race: Porsche 911 GTS vs BMW M4 CS
March 29, 2025 by Mat Watson

Fancy a sports car which is at home both on the road and the race track? You’ll likely be choosing between these two. We’ve got hold of the BMW M4 Cs and the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS for a drag race.
It’ll be an interesting one as well, because these cars are pretty evenly matched. Let’s take a closer look at the stats.
Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS

Powering the Porsche is a 3.6-litre turbocharged flat–six with 541hp and 610Nm of torque. This is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox with launch control.
It tips the scales at 1,645kg, and the car we have here will cost you £144,400. The Carrera 4 GTS sits just below the GT3 in Porsche’s range, making it the perfect choice for those of you who want a sports car which is capable on track, but won’t rattle your teeth out on the road.
BMW M4 CS

The BMW M4 CS on the other hand is the most hardcore M4 you can buy right now, although the now sold-out M4 CSL was even more of a track weapon. This car is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged straight-six with 550hp and 650Nm of torque.
It may have more power than the Porsche, but it is slightly heavier at 1,760kg. Drive is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox with launch control, and the M4 CS costs £117,000.
