Drag race: BMW M3 Competition RWD vs BMW M3 Competition AWD

What we have here is two BMW M3 Competitions. An odd start to a video, you may be thinking.
There’s a crucial difference, though. On the left, we have the standard rear-driven car but, lining up on the right, is the brand new all-wheel-drive version of the saloon. Which will prove king of the carwow drag race? Today we find out.
Obviously, these two cars are very similar in a lot of ways. They both have the same twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine with 510hp and 650nm of torque. They also both have an 8-speed automatic gearbox, as well as launch control.
The all-wheel-drive M3 will have an advantage off the line with the extra traction, however it is 50kg heavier than the rear-wheel-drive car.
Can all-wheel-drive traction outmuscle the lighter rear-driven original take M3, then? Well, you’ll need to watch to find out…
