Bugatti vs Koenigsegg DRAG RACE: £10 million hypercar showdown

February 22, 2025 by

Here at Carwow we’ve drag raced some pretty cool and expensive cars over the years, and this lineup is one of best yet. There is a combined £10 million worth of metal and carbon fibre on the start line today and almost 3,000 horsepower.

It’s the Bugatti Chiron Superport and the Koenigsegg Jesko Attack which will be going head to head, and there are some mind-boggling numbers to go over.

Bugatti Chiron Supersport

Those of you who grew up in the 2000s watching Top Gear will immediately associate Bugatti with the phrase “fastest production car in the world” thanks to the old Veyron. The Chiron is that car’s successor, and the Supersport one of the fastest versions, beaten only by the 300+.

It’s powered by an 8.0-litre, quad turbocharged W16 engine with 1,600hp and 1,600Nm of torque. This is sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It tips the scales at 1,995kg, and this one cost its owner £5 million.

To put these numbers into perspective, the Chiron is more than three times more powerful than a BMW M3, and it’s 17 times more expensive than the average house price in the UK. Its successor, the Tourbillon, has a lot to live up to.

Koenigsegg Jesko Attack

Whereas the Chiron was built to cross continents at immense speed, the Koenigsegg Jesko Attack was designed to dominate at racetracks. It certainly looks more aggressive than the Bugatti, although on paper at least it’s on the back foot.

Mounted behind the driver is a 5.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 with 1,280hp and 1,000Nm of torque, and this is sent to the rear wheels only by a nine-speed multi-clutch gearbox. It may be down on power, but this car is far lighter than the Bugatti at 1,420kg.

Like the Bugatti, this car costs £5 million. The Jesko is also offered with a system which allows it to run on E85 organic fuel, and this boosts power to 1,600hp. This one doesn’t have it fitted though, so it’s running on the same pump fuel as the Chiron.

So which car will come out on top? The Bugatti is more powerful by some margin, but the lightweight Jesko may be able to pull something out of the bag. Don’t forget that the Jesko Absolut is the fastest road car in the world with its 310mph top speed, so the Attack should also be capable of some seriously impressive straight-line speed.
