Drag race: New Tesla Cybertruck vs new Mercedes-AMG G63 vs Rolls Royce Cullinan

There aren’t many vehicles which are talked about as much as the Tesla Cybertruck, and we’ve managed to get hold of one in the UK for a drag race. It’s going up against the Mercedes-AMG G63 and the Rolls Royce Cullinan, meaning this could be the heaviest three-car lineup we’ve ever featured on Carwow outside of our lorry drag races.

There is well over eight tonnes of metal on the runway today, so let’s take a closer look at the stats.

Tesla Cybertruck

This is the dual-motor version of the Cybertruck rather than the tri-motor Cyberbeast, meaning it has 608hp and all-wheel drive. This is nothing compared to the 845hp Cyberbeast, but it should still be enough to keep this race competitive.

The Cybertruck is by far the heaviest car here though, tipping the scales at 3,009kg. It also cost its owner £150,000 to buy the truck and get it here, and making it legal for UK roads is quite tricky. One unlucky owner had his Cybertruck seized by police near Manchester for this reason.

Mercedes-AMG G63

Next up we have the recently-revised Mercedes-AMG G63. This blinged-up off-roader looks almost as blocky as the Cybertruck, and it’s powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine with 605hp and 850Nm of torque.

This is sent to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic gearbox, and the G63 tips the scales at 2,640kg. Parking one of these on your drive will cost you £184,600.

Rolls Royce Cullinan

Moving on to something a bit more sophisticated, the Rolls Royce Cullinan is powered by a silky-smooth 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine with 600hp and 900Nm of torque. This is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

At 2,660kg this isn’t exactly a Caterham, but it’s a whole lot lighter than the Tesla. You’ll strip some additional weight out of your wallet as well, because this car will cost you £380,000.
