Drag race: New Audi RS e-tron GT Performance vs Ducati Panigale V4 S

Mat’s got his hands on the new Audi RS e-tron GT Performance, the quickest-accelerating road car the brand has ever made. It’s a bonkers electric car with a 0-60mph time of just 2.5 seconds, so we’ll need a pretty special vehicle to put it up against in a drag race.
Thankfully, we have just that. Next to the Audi is the Ducati Panigale V4 S, and it’s the fastest-accelerating road bike from the Italian firm in its history thanks to a Moto GP-derived engine.
So it’s time for car vs bike down the quarter mile. Let’s take a closer look at the stats first.
New Audi RS e-tron GT Performance
Powering the RS e-tron GT Performance has a pair of electric motors, one on each axle, producing a combined 843hp. However, when using launch control this output is boosted momentarily to 925hp to get you off the line as quickly as possible.
Torque is fixed at 1,027Nm, and power is sent to the front wheels through a single speed gearbox and to the rear wheels via a two-speed gearbox. Being an electric car it is quite heavy, tipping the scales at 2,395kg, and this Audi will cost you £143,780.
New Ducati Panigale V4 S
The Ducati on the other hand is powered by a 1.1-litre V4 engine which has its roots in Moto GP racing. It puts out 216hp and 121 Nm of torque, and power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox.
That’s more than enough power on something which only weighs 187kg dry, so that’s without fluids or a rider, and it’s considerably cheaper than the Audi as well. This superbike will set you back just under £30,000.
