Drag race: Porsche 911 GT3 RS vs Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato
January 16, 2025 by Jamie Edkins
On the face of it, these two cars couldn’t be much more different. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is a hardcore track weapon designed to take lap records, while the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato is a jacked-up supercar built with off-roading in mind.
The two cars do have one thing in common though – neither are brilliantly suited to drag racing, but that’s not going to stop us from pitting them against each other down the quarter mile to see what’s what.
Let’s take a closer look at the stats…
Porsche 911 GT3 RS
Powering the Porsche is a 4.0-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six with 525hp and 465Nm of torque. This drives the rear wheels only via a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, so launching this thing quickly could be tricky.
The GT3 RS is a lightweight track car, tipping the scales at 1,450kg, so it’s designed to be blisteringly fast through the corners rather than a missile off the line. If you fancy one of these you’ll have to part with £192,600.
Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato
The Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato is very different to the Porsche, because it was built to go blasting through mud and sand dunes. It has a raised ride height and chunky cladding, as well as off-road tyres which may hold it back here.
Mounted behind the driver is a 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 which sends 610hp and 560Nm of torque to all four wheels. The car weighs in at 1,470kg, and when it was new it cost £232,820.
So which car will come out on top? You’ll have to watch the video to find out…
