I drag raced every Lamborghini Urus, and the result was surprising

If you fancy a Lamborghini Urus, there are three to choose from these days. The new SE is a plug-in hybrid with an electric motor to boost the V8 engine, then you have the more track-focussed Performante and the S is the entry-level version.

But which is actually fastest in a drag race? Well I gathered all three cars to find out.

All three cars have a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, and eight-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive, but let’s quickly take a look at the differences between them.

Lamborghini Urus S

Starting with the entry-level Urus, it has 666hp and 850Nm of torque. It weighs in at 2,197kg, and costs from £187,000.

Lamborghini Urus Performante

The Performante is a slightly more hardcore version of the Urus with a focus on handling. Like the S, it has 666hp and 850Nm of torque, but it’s slightly lighter at 2,150kg. It’s also more expensive with a price tag of £208,000.

Lamborghini Urus SE

The SE is the odd one out here. Not only does it have slightly different bodywork to the other cars, it’s also the only plug-in hybrid. The V8 engine is boosted by an electric motor to produce a combined 800hp and 950Nm of torque, but the hybrid gubbins make it heavier. The SE weighs 2,500kg, and it costs £208,000.

What will happen?

In theory, the Urus SE should have won this with its added power, followed by the lightweight Performante and the S coming a close third.
